Main page > Literary workshop with the poetry of Zbigniew Herbert
“There is a flame in me that thinks” (Zbigniew Herbert, “Inscription”)
Poetry puzzles and collage inspired by Zbigniew Herbert’s poetry – in dialogue with the exhibition.
About the Workshop
I believe in literature that offers a language to describe existence and provides keys to understanding ourselves in relation to reality. Reading is an opportunity to practice the art of human dialogue. We will stay close to ourselves – because the text waiting to be read is not only literature, but also each of us.
Format: Diptych (you may attend one or both sessions)
Duration: Each session is 150 minutes (4:00–6:30 PM)
For whom: People curious about themselves and literature
Age: From “teenage years +” to “as long as curiosity lives”
Group size: 8–16 participants
Part II: August 23 (Saturday), 4:00–6:30 PM
“so doubt is permitted / permission to ask questions”
What threads do we use to weave the fabric of our lives?
The metaphor of life as a woven fabric – but what are the threads? Gratitude, joy, prudence, fear, the hunger for beauty and truth, doubt, wounds?
In dialogue with Herbert’s poetry, using a hands-on technique of weaving and layering colored threads, participants will tell the story of their own life – a life shaped by the unexpected.
