Main page > Literary workshop with the poetry of Zbigniew Herbert
“There is a flame in me that thinks” (Zbigniew Herbert, “Inscription”)
Poetry puzzles and collage inspired by Zbigniew Herbert’s poetry – in dialogue with the exhibition.
About the Workshop
I believe in literature that offers a language to describe existence and provides keys to understanding ourselves in relation to reality. Reading is an opportunity to practice the art of human dialogue. We will stay close to ourselves – because the text waiting to be read is not only literature, but also each of us.
Format: Diptych (you may attend one or both sessions)
Duration: Each session is 150 minutes (4:00–6:30 PM)
For whom: People curious about themselves and literature
Age: From “teenage years +” to “as long as curiosity lives”
Group size: 8–16 participants
Part I: August 9 (Saturday), 4:00–6:30 PM
“let us sway (…) on the stalk of moments”
Poetry Puzzles with Zbigniew Herbert
Participants receive envelopes filled with Herbert’s poems cut into individual words – a poetic jigsaw of sorts. These scattered words spark linguistic imagination and lead to personal storytelling in the form of literary puzzles. The second part of the session is a walk through the exhibition of Herbert’s drawings and poems – followed by a creative deconstruction: an attempt to discover and reflect on “your own” Herbert.
