Main page > Exhibition of jewelry: “Not Only Insects from a Silver Drawer” Józef Teclaw – Jewelry with a Story

We’ve never hosted an exhibition like this before! This time, we travel back in time to present truly original jewelry created by Józef Teclaw during his years with ORNO 😍
Józef Teclaw is a Polish metal artist associated with the Warsaw-based Artistic Handicraft Cooperative ORNO, specializing in artistic jewelry. He joined the company in the 1970s, and after 1991 became the head of Ornament, saving the workshop from closure. His works—often inspired by plant and animal motifs—are considered valuable examples of Polish design.
A graduate of the School of Artistic Crafts, Master Goldsmith, and holder of the Artist Metalworker Diploma awarded by “Cepelia.” He is also a former athlete of WKS “Legia” 👏🏻
He created works for Pope John Paul II, three Presidents of Poland, Cardinal Wyszyński, and for 10 years designed awards for top Polish footballers, actors, and journalists. Many of his works can be found in the USA, Canada, and Australia.
Józef Teclaw is a key figure in the history of Polish artistic craftsmanship of the second half of the 20th century, especially in the context of Warsaw’s ORNO.
We warmly invite you to the exhibition opening on THURSDAY, MAY 7 at 6:00 PM 🤩 This is a rare opportunity to meet the Artist in person and see a wide selection of his works live. The exhibition runs until May 31. Free entry.
