Main page > The Nature of the World / Karolina Mikołajczyk & Iwo Jedynecki
Just like in the art of oratory, music often expresses itself between the sounds. Such subtle voices can be found in the melodically sensitive and minimalist works of Valentyn Silvestrov (Intermezzo), Pēteris Vasks (Plainscapes), and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (Lullabies and Dances, Op. 47).
In contrast, Conversio by Erkki-Sven Tüür and Tempo di valse from Musica ricercata by György Ligeti present a subversive approach to musical form. New music – Up by Dariusz Przybylski and Aria by Justė Janulytė – shifts the focus once again to the sound itself. In addition, improvised intermezzos will be performed between the works.
