There is a widespread belief that the purpose of art is to break rules, challenge conventions and aesthetics, and ultimately change habits—both the creator’s and the audience’s. But is this always a necessary condition? What price must be paid for it? Does breaking boundaries in art always mean going against the grain? Is it an act of rebellion or rather stepping out of a comfort zone? At what point does an artist searching for a new or personal language in art set limits or compromise?
You can see answers to these questions in the form of jewelry at the post-competition exhibition Prezentacje 2025: “BROKEN / PRZEŁAMANE”.
As the Association of Jewelry Designers, we have organized 21 editions of this competition, always aiming to popularize contemporary and original jewelry, seeking unique designs that innovatively combine techniques, materials, and formal solutions.
Currently, the main partner of the competition and the Grand Prix sponsor is Gdańsk International Fair S.A.
The curators are Zuzanna Liskowacka and Tomasz Stangrecki.
The jury members include: Renata Adamowicz – Head of the Amber Museum in Gdańsk; Michalina Owczarek-Siwak – Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Director of the Jewelry Institute; Monika Szpatowicz – Curator of Amberif Fair; Maciej Rozenberg – artist, jeweler, photographer, art historian; Dariusz Zarański – artist, jewelry designer.
26 works by 22 artists qualified for the exhibition. The competition is accompanied by a catalog co-financed by Gdańsk International Fair.
