Main page > Artist Week – Monika Czuba & Agnieszka Metko

We warmly invite you to the Gallery of Contemporary Jewelry for “Artist Week – Monika Czuba & Agnieszka Metko”, starting on Tuesday, January 13 and running until Sunday, January 18. This time, we present a unique duo combining visual art and contemporary jewelry.
Monika Czuba is a jewelry designer, painter, and interior designer. She graduated from the Antidotum Jewelry Design and Creation School and the Post-secondary Art School Collage in Warsaw. She is a member of the visual artists’ group “Młyn” as well as the Association of Goldsmiths and Jewelry Designers (STFZ). She has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including at Galeria Pi, Galeria Lescer, Polswiss Art Auction House Gallery (2015), Artistar Jewels during Milan Jewelry Week 2023, Romanian Jewelry Week 2024, and the STFZ “Broken” exhibition at the Amber Museum in Gdańsk. Monika runs her own studio in Piaseczno near Warsaw. Her long-standing love for jewelry fuels her artistic spirit. Her works tell fairy-tale-like stories expressed through form and contrasting colors. She does not seek inspiration—it comes to her naturally. The authenticity and sincerity she puts into her creations allow them to tell their own stories. Often, she creates a single unique piece that emphasizes the individuality of the person who wears it. She enjoys combining different techniques, materials, and intense colors. Her motto is: “Jewelry is like a dress—you have to try it on and see if it fits.”
Agnieszka Metko is a painter, illustrator, vocalist, poet, and author of paintings, illustrations, relief sculptures, as well as children’s books and educational projects for preschool and early school education. Her works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions and are part of both Polish and international collections, including those of Katarzyna Dowbor, Piotr Foreman-Foryś (vocalist of the band Pudelsi), and American musician Jack White. In her art, she often refers to design and fashion-related aesthetics. She is also a member of the visual artists’ group “Młyn”. “The Infinity of Agnieszka Metko’s Wings” is a project in which the artist, through various forms, colors, and techniques, asks the question: “And you—what kind of wings would you like to wear?” The relief sculptures are made of wooden forms measuring 160 × 80 cm and decorated with acrylic paints, sculpting compounds, concrete, paper, moss, and metal. The exhibition consists of two series that differ in shape and form of expression. The wings have been used as stage and decorative elements at numerous cultural events, including a concert by American musician Jack White at Torwar Hall in Warsaw in 2018, concerts by the band FOVO, symposia, and gala events. The wings are part of collections belonging to Katarzyna Dowbor, Piotr Foreman-Foryś (Pudelsi), and Jack White (The White Stripes).
Throughout the week, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists, learn about their creative processes, and purchase unique jewelry and original works of art.
